A location-specific weather service that converts observations and forecasts into clear, mobile-ready information for an existing tennis website.
Weather conditions are particularly relevant to outdoor sports activities such as tennis. The tennis centre wanted to provide players with concise information about recent precipitation, the current rain situation and the expected development over the following hours.
The information needed to work within the centre’s existing website and its established visual layout. A redesign or replacement of the website was not part of the project.
MB Aviation developed a location-specific data service for Tenniszentrum Klüh in Frankfurt.
The calculations are performed for the geographic coordinates of the tennis facility. Radar observations and numerical model forecasts are evaluated specifically for this location, while nearby Netatmo stations provide additional information about the surrounding area.
The service therefore does not merely reproduce a general weather forecast for Frankfurt. It generates a dedicated data product for the location of the tennis courts.
The service processes weather information from the Deutscher Wetterdienst (DWD) and nearby Netatmo observations. It provides:
A simple visual status makes the precipitation information easier to interpret. The service does not issue a binding decision about whether the courts are playable.
Two compact views are embedded into the existing tennis centre website:
Both views are designed for desktop and mobile displays. The integration required no fundamental changes to the independently operated website or its editorial system.
The weather service runs independently of the tennis centre website on infrastructure operated by MB Aviation.
Scheduled processes retrieve the source data, check its freshness and completeness, build a location-specific data product and publish the resulting information. The public presentation refreshes automatically.
If relevant data is missing or outdated, the service reports that no reliable assessment is available instead of presenting stale information as current.

The Tenniszentrum Klüh website, its editorial content and its general technical operation remain the responsibility of its independent operator.
This separation allows the specialised service to be maintained and developed without creating a dependency on the website’s underlying platform.
Players receive concise local weather information directly on the tennis centre website, including a practical hourly forecast for mobile use.
The tennis centre gained an additional digital service without replacing its existing website. The project demonstrates how a small, specialised data service can be developed, integrated and operated with clearly defined responsibilities.
